A look at the Leading Parties
Leading parties are companies in the network of transshippers, transporters and municipalities in the Netherlands, who commit to the targets of the Sustainable Logistics programme: to reduce CO2 emissions by at least 20% in 2012 while simultaneously increasing profitability.
Measures deployed to achieve the targets include:
- bundling of goods flows in cooperation with transporters and customers
- making sustainability demands of suppliers
- offering driving training to drivers
- reduction of 'empty kilometres' in cooperation with transporters and customers
- increased sustainability of the fleet of vehicles
