Process steps
The steps in the Be Lean Be Green programme are as follows:
1.Intake
- Initial meeting to determine whether participation in the programme is viable and desirable.
2. Declaration of intent
- Recording/declaration of intent by the board or highest management, of confirmation to the programme target. This can be done either orally or in writing.
3. Plan of Approach
- Generation of the Plan of Approach by the company, supported by third parties where applicable.
- Deadline for submittal of the Plan to the Programme for Sustainable Logistics is each first day of a three-month period.
4. Assessment
- The assessment of the Plan of Approach by TNO. The results can be as followed:
*Green: the Lean and Green Award is granted
*Orange: the Lean and Green Award can be granted as long as a few adaptations are made within a certain timescale
*Red: the Lean and Green Award cannot be granted (however, a new plan can be submitted before the following deadline)
5.Lean and Green Award
- The Lean and Green Award is granted twice annually. Being granted the award also means that the Lean and Green logo may be used on trucks, websites, publications, etc.
6. Monitoring
- Companies must inform Sustainable Logistics of their CO2 saving twice annually, in both the relative and absolute sense.
